José Serrano uses the trumpet, synthesizer, voice and software to create and compose music.
As a trumpeter, he has published under his name "Spring Ghost Stay" and "Atman", in which he pays tribute to the mystical and ceremonial soundscapes created by minimalist masters such as La Monte Young and Jon Hassel.
With the Berlin-based trio Hibylo he explores sound synthesis. Under the influence of the city's rich underground nightlife, the band has played several live performances and produced two records of experimental ambient electronic music.
In Berlin and Leipzig he took part in various musical collectives, studied music production and learned sound engineering. In 2018 he completed a Masters in Improvisation at the Hochschule für Musik Leipzig.
He currently lives in his hometown in Portugal, where he has spent a good part of 2022 composing, recording and producing his first album of songs "Beira-Mar", his debut as a singer-songwriter.

Enquanto trompetista, tem publicado em seu nome "Spring Ghost Stay" e "Atman", trabalhos nos quais presta homenagem aos ambientes sonoros místicos e cerimoniais criados por mestres minimalistas como La Monte Young e Jon Hassel.
Com o trio Hibylo explora a síntese sonora. Sob a influência da cena subterrânea berlinense, a banda apresentou-se em várias salas emblemáticas da capital alemã e lançou dois discos de electrónica experimental ambiente.
Em Berlim e Leipzig fez parte de vários coletivos, estudou produção musical e engenharia sonora. Em 2018 concluiu o Mestrado em Improvisação na Hochschule für Musik Leipzig.
Actualmente vive em Portugal, onde passou boa parte de 2022 a compor, gravar e produzir o seu primeiro álbum de canções "Beira-Mar", a sua estreia como cantautor.
